Dear Chair of Petitions committee

Would you be so kind enough to ask Mr Huw Lewis AM whether the task and finish group looking at ecclesiastical exemption mentioned in his letter addressed to you dated 8^th January has taken adequate steps to contact the independent churches in Wales which in a previous correspondence he admitted had been left out of the process due to difficulties in identifying them.

I fear that the group has simply sent out invitations to the denominations that were on their database.

May I suggest he asks his task and finish group to send invitations to the following groups which represent well over 100 independent churches in Wales:

1.  Evangelical Alliance Wales
